Lady and I are ready for St. Patrick’s Day. Are you?
There are a ton of things going on tomorrow in and around Boston. If you are able to rage on a Wednesday evening, more power to you. Here are a few fun places you might want to check out:

2. The Black Rose (one of my personal favorites) – Opens at 6am (jeekers, that’s intense!) serving up a free traditional Irish breakfast for the first 100 people. Tomorrow we’re going to the Celtics game again; hopefully the luck of the Irish will be with them this time! I’m also hoping we’ll see some Irish step dancers! When I was a dancer, this time of the year used to be so busy! (back in my youth)
In other non-St. Patrick’s Day related news… My Dad shaved his mustache off. My Mom texted me a picture of it. His upper lip has been in hiding for years, and it has now been set free!
Also, I have a quick bone to pick. Yesterday I was passing by the elevators at work, there was an older man who works on my floor waiting there to head home for the day. I passed by, ready to say hi and he said ‘How goes the battle?’ ‘How goes the what-who-excuse me?’ was probably close to my response. And I’m sure I was bright red due to my lack of understanding.
Today, a very nice foreign man at work passed me by in the hall saying, ‘How goes it?’ in his thick accent (I actually still haven’t figured out where he is from – maybe I’ll just ask…) I was confused so I just smiled (this happens often, no big deal. I was still red though – that goes without saying.)
Listen, I appreciate the hello, I really do. I’m all about being friendly. But I’m tired and Mondays/Tuesdays are long days, I can hardly understand basic English nevermind whatever the hell you’re saying right now. I’m sorry, but what happened to just a simple ‘How are you today?,’ it would make things a lot easier if we could stick with this.
But, you know what? Beggars can’t be choosers and I rather these guys be friendly by saying hello in their own way rather than be rude and totally ignore me in passing. I might have been a bit embarrassed but at least I got a chuckle out of it, and you know what – with my confused expression – they probably did too!
